Weekend Report- Free Concert (Erykah Badu and Shiny Toy Guns)

On Friday, October 16, Badu and The Cannabinoids will perform a free concert alongside Oklahoma's Shiny Toy Guns as a kickoff event to the weekend-long traffic nightmare that is TX/OU weekend.

It's kind of an interesting concept, too: There will be two stages--one adorned in burnt orange and featuring Badu and Co., the other in crimson and playing host to Shiny Toy Guns--and the two acts will go back and forth, performing a musical "conversation," or so the press release says, while indicating that it's a competition of sorts, but carefully avoiding using such a specific term.

When: Friday, Oct. 16, 10 p.m.
Where: Victory Park, Dallas
Cost: Free

Free Luvs!

I happened to find this steal/idea from another site. It's a really good and smart idea!

I found a great deal on Luv's diapers in the clearance section of my Tom Thumb. Regularly priced at $9.99, a large number of packs at the back of the store had orange 50% off stickers, making them $5 each! If you registered for the $5 Luv's coupon here, then you can use it to make these absolutely free! I happen to get my coupon in the mail this week so it was perfect timing!
It gets even better though...when I checked out, the price came up at $8.99 which brought the after-clearance price to $4.50 each. My $5 coupon didn't beep or price reduce so I actually made 50¢!
If you don't have the $5 coupon, you can use the $1 coupon from the 9/27 P&G insert from the Sunday paper to make these $3.50 each. Not the absolute best price I've ever seen - but still a great deal!

WATCH OUT - your cashier has to scan the orange sticker for the full 50% to come off, so make sure they do! I had to remind my cashier or I would not have gotten the 50% off price..you know I wasn't having any of that!
Don't forget..it's not too late to sign up for your coupon here.
